A great breakfast spot is the best kind of restaurant. It gives you a place to start your day off right, with something filling and energizing. It can also be a fun place to get together with friends and family on a weekend morning. Fortunately, there are lots of delicious options in Rockville, all just a short walk from The Upton. We’ve tried them out, and included our favorite options for the best breakfasts in Rockville:
Best Coffee – Cremcafe Food & Espresso Bar
Cremcafe is an essential for true coffee connoisseurs. The flavor of their coffee is excellent, and available in a variety of forms, from a classic cappuccino to an Affogato Café (espresso, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream). Make sure to try their Espresso Chocolate, which mixes espresso with milk and Belgian chocolate.
Best Breakfast To-Go – Vie de France Bakery
Head here before work and enjoy the smell of freshly baking breads as you wait for your breakfast. It’s hard to avoid ordering dessert first thing in the morning here, especially once you see the array of delicious options in their bakery case. Their croissants are fresh, their coffee is great, and their breakfast sandwiches are a perfect “grab and go” option. Try the bacon, egg and cheese on a mini baguette, a customer favorite.
Best Hearty Meal – Al Carbon
Don’t let the outside of this small restaurant fool you; it’s got a lot to offer. Many people come for lunch or dinner, but a little known fact in the neighborhood is that their breakfast is worth a visit. Al Carbon is popular with morning commuters, who have made the steak with fried egg, and Desayuno Tipico (eggs with sour cream, rice, beans and avocado) bestsellers. Not surprisingly, The Washington Post rated Al Carbon one of the best breakfast spots Marlyand in 2012.
Best Classic Breakfast – Apollo Restaurant
This local family-owned restaurant has a sense of community from the moment you walk in. Here, regulars mingle with newcomers, and everyone enjoys the fresh cuisine. It may be a Greek restaurant, but their breakfast foods are classic American comfort food. They have eggs cooked to order, pancakes, bacon, and sausage, among many other diner-style breakfast foods.
Rockville has many well-known restaurants open for lunch and dinner, but breakfast is often overlooked by busy area residents. When you live at The Upton, great breakfast options are on your way to work, and just around the corner. Try one of these restaurants, and see how easy it is to start your day off right when you live here.
