Maintaining a fitness routine is a large part of living the healthy lifestyle that so many of us crave. To help our residents at The Upton stay in shape and at their best, we make workout regimens easy to maintain with our onsite workout center and swimming pool. The Upton is also in walking (and biking/jogging) distance of some top-notch gyms and fitness studios. Ready to warm up and work out at The Upton?
At Home Workouts
An at-home workout usually means popping in a DVD and doing yoga in front of your television screen. While that is also an easy option in your spacious, brightly lit Upton residence, you may not enjoy having your dog stepping on you during your own Downward Facing Dog.
Head to the ninth floor, where our fitness center has exercise equipment, free weights, and an entire yoga studio exclusively for our residents. There is also a TRX studio equipped with suspension training equipment for building muscle.
Swimming also burns lots of calories, with little to no impact. Enjoy a therapeutic workout in the water, at our ninth-floor pool.
Gold’s Gym – One great way to optimize your workout is to warm up with a brisk walk or run to your local gym. Gold’s Gym is just down the street from The Upton, making it easy to elevate your heart rate before you begin your cardio or strength training.
Rockville Crossfit – If you’d like to get in a 2-mile run before your workout, try jogging to Rockville Crossfit, just a couple of miles from The Upton. Crossfit is popular for good reason. It provides a full body workout for men and women looking to see tangible changes in their bodies.
Life Time Athletic – Life Time Athletic is another great option for getting in a run before your gym visit. At just 2 miles away, you can jog to the facility, have your cardio done, and then choose a course from their wide variety of group fitness classes including BarreFusion and studio cycling. They also have an onsite spa and café so you can make your most out of your time there
Carl Henn Millenium Trail – Cycling is also a popular hobby in the area, and for good reason. You can enjoy the beauty of Rockville with a ride on the Millenium Trail, where you can also walk or run. Map out your route first using the city of Rockville’s Bike Map. You can pick up the trail at nearby David Scull Park.
