Just because it’s chilly outside doesn’t mean you’re stuck sweating in the gym when you want some exercise. Take a spin around the arena at Rockville Outdoor Ice Skating as snowflakes drift softly to the ground. The public ice-skating rink opens up seasonally to offer some family-friendly fun.
Lace up a pair of rental skates and hit the ice any day of the week. The rink opens at 10 a.m. or noon, depending on the day, and closes at 10 p.m. on school nights and 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Round up a big group and enjoy an hour or two on the rink for $9 admission ($8 for kids) or reserve a table for a party. The party package includes a quick lesson for the uninitiated skaters, followed by some free skate time and, if you decide to bring some food and cake along, a rink-side feast.
