Starting November 29 and running through December 31, the 24th annual Winter Lights Festival is currently gearing up to illuminate the night skies in Gaithersburg. With more than 450 individual light displays lining a 3.5 mile scenic drive through Seneca Creek State Park, the Winter Lights Festival is something you’ve got to see to believe. Displays include giant candy canes and snow flakes, as well as animated displays that show jumping animals and moving figures. As you drive through, don’t forget to tune your vehicle’s radio to the recommended station to get the full experience.
Tickets purchased in advance start at $12 per car during the week (and rise to $17 for weekend visits), while tickets purchased on-site are slightly more expensive, so it’s worth it to head online and get yours in advance. Whatever ticket you purchase, however, you’ll be glad to know that a portion of all ticket sales is donated to support Gaithersburg nonprofit organizations.
